Welcome to Spookytown, the world's most frightfully fun Halloween Village. The supernatural and scary have found a place right here in Spooky Town, the Lemax holiday village collection dedicated to the fright-filled delight of Halloween. We've gathered a "spooktacular" collection of finely crafted lighted buildings, animated accessories, detailed / landscaping and ghoulish figurines to help you celebrate this popular holiday.
New for 2022 are 18 new Village houses, and over 30 new tabletop pieces and accessories all expected to begin arriving late summer/early fall. The highlight Spookytown piece for 2022 is definitely "The Count's Bat Bonanza". A ride for those who wish to fly like our favorite count dracula! Step aboard the Count’s Bat Bonanza and become air bound on one of the charismatic purple bats. As you glide up and down you can catch a glimpse of Dracula himself, surveying his carnival ride creation from on high. Don’t forget to look down to see a coffin or two on the ground for added fear factor! The close runner-up's to The Count's Bat Bonzanza is the "Last Ditch Gas & Salvage", and Dr. Gory's Laboratory. Ever wondered what the last gas station before hell looks like? Well, wonder no more thanks to this amazingly detailed creation! A team of handy zombie staff are ready to fill your cursed vehicle with the fuel you need to try and escape, but we can’t promise you’ll be successful! Demonic headstones and fiery flames aplenty, This is certainly a gas station that you will never forget! Two great companion accessories to go with your Last Ditch Gas & Salvage are the "Last Ditch Tow Truck", and the "Last Ditch Zombie". Now let's talk about Dr. Gory's Lab! Spooky science truly comes to life at Dr. Gory’s Laboratory! A series of vibrant lighting tubes reveal the results of some of Dr. Gory’s most recent experiments. Dare you take a closer look? The Doc himself is waiting to greet you at the door. Be careful, though, you never know if he might need an extra arm or leg! Never fear, there are two great companion accessories to go with Dr. Gory's Laboratory; "Lab Assistant", and "Monster Coffee Break" will compliment your village display perfectly.
For the Witch fans out there, 2022 will not disappoint. A few new Witch themed Spookytown village pieces will be in the line-up. "The Witching Hour", and "Agatha's Apothecary" are two new sights and sounds pieces along with the light up Halloween village houses "Helga's Hats", & the "Witch's Cottage". I am particularly fond of "Helga's Hat's" with the ominous purple glow above the shop, showing a witch selling her special hats! OH! I almost forgot to mention the "Poison Pumpkin Potpourri", this unique Spookytown village shop has the witches conjuring up their creepiest scents ever! You can see the wispy smoke from their creations billowing out the chimney.
Lemax introduced a new fogging capability in 2021 on a few of their animated village houses for Christmas and Halloween. In 2022 besides The Poison Pumpkin Potpourri (shown above), there will be two Spookytown table-top pieces that will produce fog. "Isle Of Creepy Jacks", and "The Skull Cave Quarry". I know I am having a hard time deciding which I like better. Both are creepy and ominous. It is worth mentioning that the "Isle Of Creepy Jacks" does have added rotating "Jacks" pacing around the pumpkin tree.
One of the larger fully animated Spookytown village pieces this year that is sure to delight is the "Horrid Haunted Hotel". This was an exclusive in the Michael's lineup for 2021 but is now available to all retailers. We at Sissy n' Scooter Merriments are excited to carry this creepy must-have Hotel. We love the pathetic unassuming guests going up the escalator to their creepy haunted hotel room. In addition the poor guests are being chased around by a grim reaper! The hour glass rotates, along with the key in the padlock. A very colorful Spookytown village piece with lots of animation going on!
For the animal lovers out there, your Spookytown village setup would not be complete without one of these pet themed village pieces. "The Meow Mansion", is way too cute for words. The image below speaks for itself! "Bailey and Bella's Pet Shop" is a new Spookytown Village house that will go wonderful with the "Best Buds Dog Supply Store" in your Furr-Pet themed village. Woof! Meow!!!
The new "Skull and Rose Tattoo Studio" will go down as an all-time classic and fan favorite. This Spookytown tattoo studio has fantastic coloring, in a rose-pink color not used too often along with clear lights illuminating. The window scene depicts a woeful customer getting his ink on. The sugar skull prominently displayed at the top of the building definitely makes a bold statement.
If you are looking for a couple Spookytown light up houses to fill in those vacant spots in your creepy village display, may I suggest "B.A. Freyed Clocksmith" and "It's A Wrap Mummy Mortuary". "B.A. Freyed Clocksmith", what a great play of the words "Be Afraid"! From the skeleton clocksmith in the window scene to the big and bold sinister skull clock on the second floor is quite a stand out! "It's a Wrap Mummy Mortuary" is a GREAT village piece to put with the retired pieces, "Haunted Pyramid", and "The Cursed Tomb". I like that they have added another Egyptian themed village piece to the lineup.
Are you in search of a Spookytown table top piece that is a little less scary? May I suggest the "Sugared Pumpkin Candy Shop" The little ones will adore this little candy shop without all the scariness! It's sugary sweet, and everything nice. There might be sugared pumpkins but at The Spooky Town Candy Shoppe, there is little else for a sweet tooth. Untouched by The Candy Man, the treats here include toxic witches brew, rotten candy (made fresh every day), ice scream and chewy monster claws. The candy Is more likely to bite you than you bite it. Spooky Town residents visit The Candy Shoppe every Halloween, sadly, it's all trick and no treat.
I'll close this blog posting out with "The Crypt Of The Lost Pumpkin Souls". Have you ever wondered where pumpkins go to die? Well, wonder no more! This spooky seasonal castle is decorated head to toe with the ghoulish Halloween pumpkins. If you look closely, you’ll see the pumpkin crypt keeper himself, waiting to welcome you to the great pumpkin patch beyond! Follow the advice of the detailed signs, and turn back while you still can! I am impressed by all the different colors and illuminations going on with this Spookytown village piece. Check out the video below to take a peek how this eerie piece looks lit up!
Lemax has definitely stepped up their game for 2022 with Spookytown! It is a very well-rounded collection with something for everyone! Different themes, new animation techniques with foggers, expanding their use of new paint colors, while staying true to their Spookytown roots. We hope you love the new collection as much as we do. We hope to see all these wonderful creepy pieces begin arrive late summer, early fall. Be sure to check out our product pages to get yours on pre-order today!
Sissy Chuckles Funhouse and The Funhouse are two carnival themed Funhouses produced by Lemax. Which is your favorite? Both are amazing houses and deserve a moment in the spotlight. Chuckles Funhouse is probably THE UNICORN of most Spookytown collectors. Produced in 2013 and quickly retired in 2015, this piece is VERY very rare and hard to find. When found this piece usually commands well over $1,000. I have seen one fetch $2500 on eBay. More times than not it is non working. This amazing piece is quite heavy and on the larger size for the average Spookytown piece. What makes this Spookytown house different from most is the shaking platform the two kids are trying to navigate on the second floor. I cannot say I have seen any other village piece have this kind of animation. The rotating mirrors are very reminiscent of a true funhouse from yesteryear. This is an amazingly colorful piece, however my only gripe is the lack of children's voices squealing and screeching as they traverse the funhouse. What you hear is simply the shaking of the platform. See my video below to see what fun animation this piece offers. Lastly... good luck in your search! Simply named "Funhouse", the predecessor to Chuckles Funhouse (Stock #65344) made it's debut in 2006 and was retired in 2013. It was in the line for 8 years which reflects in it's secondary market price of just $100-$150. As Chuckle's was making his way to the market, this guy was slowly descending into happy retirement. I LOVE the colors on this Spookytown house! Although it's animation is a little lack luster it still adds an amazing element to your carnival themed layout. The kiddos run around (rotate) the second level with the house of mirrors in the center. The sounds you would expect in a real funhouse are found on this piece, and in my opinion exceeds Chuckle's sounds. This house can usually be found on eBay in good working order for around $100-$150 in it's original box. Thanks for checking out this week's Flashback Friday.
Happy Lemaxing! Sissy 10/22/2021 Flashback Friday - Oct-o-Squeeze

Welcome to our blogWe have discovered there is a need for repair tips, faqs, and general info about the wonderful world of Lemax products. So we have started this fun new blog.
Our first entry is a simple thank you. Thank you for visiting our website and supporting our venture that turned from collecting, to diving in as a full blown Lemax authorized retailer. We have much gratitude for every single order, large and small that comes in. Our primary goal is to get you Lemax products that are shipped with the utmost care, where all pieces are tested and inspected for damages and defects before they leave our warehouse. Yes, we do take time with every piece, looking them over for damages making sure the lights work, and the animations are operating properly. There is honestly nothing more disappointing than waiting for a new piece to arrive at your doorstep to find it's been tossed in a shipping box with little to no cushioning and pulling it out to find that it's either broken or not even functioning. We hope to eliminate as much of this as necessary. Are we saying that there will never be a broken or damaged item? Of course not, we are only human. But, we will take the extra step to do all we can to avoid unnecessary problems. Please stay tuned... Scooter will be diving into some repair tips, when your house has an issue. Sissy |
